KINDS OF MEDIATION

What can I expect in mediation?

Families Talking offers three kinds of Mediation:

1. Child-Only Mediation deals with problems for children and their relationships with parents and other family members

  1. Residence
  2. Contact Arrangements
  3. Parental Responsibility
  4. Child support
  5. Differences in parenting style
  6. Communication between parents

Up to three 1 hour sessions are offered.

2. All-Issues Mediation (AIM) covers areas of dispute arising from separation or divorce including financial support, the family home, savings and debts, pensions, as well as arrangements for children. You will both need to tell us and your partner about all financial details relating to your marriage or partnership, and bring in copies of all supporting documents. This sounds like hard work but we will help you to work things out. This will also help you with your legal work because your solicitor will want to know the same information and see the same documents.

You should expect about 4 sessions, each 2 hours in length.

3. Property and Finance deals purely with financial issues for those without children.
