Children and Families Court Advisory and Support Service www.cafcass.gov.uk
- If all else fails, the courts may make an order (usually either for contact or residence) but only if the welfare of the children is likely to suffer without it. A Cafcass Officer may be required to produce a report for the court. In this case they would interview members of the family, including children, to assess the situation and to make recommendation to the court about a suitable course of action.
